7 miles. 7,100 ft. Good times.

Yesterday Andy and I headed over to Mt. Washington to meet up with Ian to hike and shred Tuckerman Ravine.  The 3 mile approach to the bowl was well worth it, none of us had ever been up there and we've always wanted to go and ski this legendary east coast mountain.  It was a little sketch for sure, and right away we were given a taste of the danger watching a couple bad falls in the steeps of the headwall but after some consideration we decided to hike the right gully, the sustained pitch is 35 and the max is 45 degrees at the very top of the chute.  It was killer.  After we topped out the chute, we decided to push for the summit but made the decision to turn around early before the sun left the bowl to avoid potential icy conditions on the way down the chute as things cooled down.  Even though we didn't quite get to summit we still got some really fun turns on the wide open faces of the lower snowfields.  The chute was pretty crazy but super fun and it felt really good to earn some turns on 35 degree territory.  Overall, NEF had a killer weekend in the whites and we're stoked to get back there next spring!  Here are a mixture of stills and screenies from the day... Enjoy.
cheers, Adam, Ian, and Andy
