last weekend was a time of epic radness. ian came over from maine to do some skiing, the plan: come over friday night go to Bolton Valley Resort and shred go home get some sleep ski and ride in the yard on saturday then go to bolton again. he arrived and we drove to the mountain, did some shreddin and drove back to orange to watch some terrible tv and get some sleep. next day woke up late hit the little rail in the yard and we decided to head out to the supervisory union building and hit the rail. sounds chill right? we got there and there was no snow on the flat hand rail so we went and looked at the steep one around the corner. it looked wicked sketch but regardless we were super early for 4 pm night riding at bolton so we decided to go for it. it took about a half hour of shoveling and it still looked pretty sketch but at this point i was locked in and i had to give it a shot. the drop in was crude, it involved jumping off a picnic table onto an icy snowbank and down to a flat pile of snow on the stairs that i, in theory would do a little pop off of onto the rail. super basic. i got my boots on and got ready to hit it the first time riding down the stairs to get a feeling of what would happen worst case scenario. ha as if that would be worst case scenario. so anyway i got the balls and went for it the second time but it was only half hearted still i ended up almost going backside and i fell off into the snowy side of the rail. the third time i nailed it. i was walking back up so ian could get a few shots and realized a car had pulled into the lot. great. were gonna get kicked out i thought... the dude got out of the car and i realized it was a cop in an unmarked car. the guy had a gun holder thing over his shoulder. he didnt say anything so i started strapping in making sure to keep an eye on him as i did so. i probably hit it about 3 more times and as we started packing up he did too driving slowly out of the lot. mission accomplished! we then headed to the state house lawn and did some slacklining before going to bolton to shred. sunday was pretty chill we just hit the rail in the yard. tried some 270s and nailed some smooth backside laps on the plastic. overall super sick weekend, thanks ian. here are a few shots and GoPro sceen shots from the adventure... cheers, adam
